Ned Yost in hospital after falling in rural Georgia

Royals manager Ned Yost was hospitalized in Atlanta with a broken pelvis suffered in a fall while trying to fix a tree stand on his Georgia property, the team announced Wednesday night. A tree stand typically is used by deer hunters. The injury occurred over the weekend.

General manager Dayton Moore said he expects Yost to be fully recovered by the beginning of the 2018 Major League baseball season. Club officials were also hopeful that Yost could still make his annual trip to the Winter Meetings in December, though his recovery timetable remains fluid.

Yost took over as manager of Kansas City back in 2010. This time, though, the Royals came out on top, defeating the New York Mets in five games.
