PlayStation app for Android gets redesigned, tabs for easier navigation

But to tell you the truth, the app was a bit klunky to use before, and a redesign was totally in order. The first thing you'll notice if you're an old-time user is the addition of a couple of new tabs at the bottom of the screen to make it easier and faster to switch between viewing who's online, checking notifications, and follow the latest activities and posts from friends and the PlayStation community.

The app has also made it easier to access the PlayStation Store from your phone.

On the other hand, speaking of removed features, Live from PlayStation has been removed, and the same goes for the second screen functionality that has been moved to a completely new "PS4 Second Screen" app. You can also do voucher code redemption, which is pretty easy now.

The update is free to download on iOS devices running iOS 9.0 or later and on Android devices on 4.1 or later.

You access these different pages from the bottom navigation bar, and tapping on the PlayStation icon in the middle will reveal a menu for seeing upcoming events, looking at your trophies, going to the PlayStation Store, etc.

So if you want to experience the new app, you need to update your current app to the latest version.
