Woman critically injured in Oshawa crash dies in hospital

The 35-year-old woman rushed to hospital following a five-vehicle collision on Harmony Road in Oshawa on November 6 has died. A loaded dump truck "somehow collided with four other vehicles", Durham Const. George Tudos told CBC Toronto later that day.

Authorities said Stacey Rinaldi of Oshawa died in hospital on Wednesday.

When officers arrived, they found a woman trapped in one of the vehicles.

Police said she was trapped in her auto but was extricated and transported by air ambulance to a Toronto-area hospital in life-threatening condition.

Another woman and her two-month-old baby were treated in hospital with minor injuries following the five-vehicle crash on Harmony Road at Highway 401.

Harmony Road was shut down for several hours for the police investigation.

Police have not said what caused the crash but are asking witnesses to come forward and speak to investigators with the Traffic Services division.

Anonymous information can be sent to Durham Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 and tipsters may be eligible for a $2,000 cash reward.
