First Real Photos Of The Samsung W2018 Android Flip Phone Appears Onlineā€

But is it enough to compete with Samsung's flagship Galaxy S8? While flip phones seem to have slipped out of view in the mainstream phone industry, Samsung still is chugging forward with their clamshells, albeit not in all parts of the globe. The Samung W2018 is the latest W series flagship flip-phone for 2018, and features top-of-the-line hardware in a handsome-looking design. When you open the flap, there is another screen at the top half, while at the bottom, one can find physical keypad and navigation buttons, which is similar to the SM-W2017.

The back of the SM-W2018 looks to be made of glass as fingerprint smudges are clearly visible on the surface. However, there is no way to authenticate the images.

Some reports last month suggested that the SM-W2018 had already entered testing, and it could run on a firmware with the version number W2018ZCU0AQI9.

Recent leaks point towards the handset, which is still yet to be assigned a vanity name, shipping with a pair of 4.2-inch Full HD displays, a Snapdragon 835 processor, 6GB of RAM, a 12MP rear-facing camera and a 2,300mAh battery.

On the camera front, the phone is reported to bear a 12-megapixel rear camera, while for the front, there could be a 5-megapixel shooter for selfies and video calling.

The phone will only be available in certain markets.
