Germany boss Joachim Loew: England are no longer the long-ball country

Germany boss Joachim Loew: England are no longer the long-ball country”

"Some players, like Toni Kroos and Mats Hummels, are integral parts of our set-up if they are injury-free", added Low.

When asked if he ever considered an early global retirement, Vardy told BBC: "I don't think past tomorrow, to be honest".

"We want to play a good game, the result is always important, but I also know that I want to to experiment".

The manager of the world champions and the winners of this summer's Confederations Cup has a string of his own injury problems going into tonight's Wembley friendly but insists he would have been experimenting anyway.

"We are being chased, and we see what happens down in the youth teams".

"This is an opponent on a par with us, a team that has made very good developments over the last two or three years".

'We very much want to develop leaders, people who can take responsibility on the pitch, particularly in the tough times.

With many of his choices for next summer's tournament in Russian Federation already made, Low wants to give other players the chance to secure their places. "We have to be well organised and be able to switch (from defence to attack) quickly ourselves".

"I am really looking forward to it", he said of the Wembley clash, which will take place without regular Germany starters Manuel Neuer, Jerome Boateng and Jonas Hector.

Low confirmed he plans to examine his options against an England side that will be without a number of key players including Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Raheem Sterling. It's a period of testing and is a test run for some players.

The likes of Phil Foden, who was named player of tournament, and Rhian Brewster, who won the golden boot, will be in attendance to soak up the adulation.

With seven months to go before the World Cup kicks-off in Russia, Loew wants to ensure he has cover for each position.

"He will play", Low said. "I am the returning one now", said Goetze.

But he has returned to the starting XI in recent weeks, in a new left wing-back role, and his displays have earned him a first England call-up since 2013.

Borussia Dortmund midfielder Mario Gotze said he is confident he is "at 100 percent" after making his return to the Germany national team for the first time in a year.
