Qualcomm Unveils $12B In China Deals Amid Trump's Trip

The MoUs were signed at a ceremony at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing led by President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping and President of the United States Donald Trump. However, it appears that the enigmatic president has delivered on his word.

Huawei, Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo, and were the top five domestic smartphone makers in mainland China in the third quarter, per a report from Digitimes' research division.

Qualcomm CEO Steve Mollenkopf was part of President Trump's Department of Commerce Trade Delegation to China, that included executives of leading American companies.

Qualcomm Technologies Inc. signed three non-binding memoranda of understanding with Xiaomi Communications Co.

China-based vendors Oppo and Xiaomi Technology will adopt 3D sensing solutions for smartphones to be launched in 2018, with such solutions to be developed by Himax Technologies via cooperation with Qualcomm and the sensor modules to be produced by Truly Opto-Electronics, according to industry sources, reported the DigiTimes.

Huawei, China's largest smartphones maker, is working with Sunny Optical Technology to develop a 3D sensor solution for its high-end models, the sources said.
