Karim Benzema not expecting France recall

Karim Benzema not expecting France recall”

In July, the Court of Cassation - France's court of final appeals in civil and criminal proceedings - ruled in Benzema's favour.

"At Real, I score, but when the guy who is next to you scores 50 per season (you can not do anything)", Benzema told Canal+.

Benzema missed Euro 2016 on home soil a year ago as a result of his continued exile and he appears unlikely to earn a recall with les Bleus in time for the 2018 World Cup.

Benzema concedes that his exile from the Les Blues setup is likely to continue for the foreseeable future but, with a World Cup year fast approaching, the former Lyon star has called on Deschamps to only focus on matters that take place on the field. "But, personally, I think what is external to football you have to leave out".

The 29-year-old France outcast has been at Madrid since 2009 but his time appears to be coming to an end.

"Ronaldo and I, we get on well".

Benzema admits Ronaldo is "more selfish than me", but insists he has no problem with that. I like football and winning titles.

"Of course, I want to play at the World Cup, I want to win something with my country", said Benzema who added that he has no relationship whatsoever with Deschamps.

Benzema, who has scored 27 goals for France, last played for the national team in October 2015. "After that, he turned his back on me".

"I'm not a disrupter, but I have an image that is not good externally [away from the team]".

On criticism of Real fans, Benzema admits it can hurt him. "I don't need to see what he does with France, only what he does in the Champions League". He likes to play with one touch of the ball. "He could have come to Real, and that would have been good".
