Boeing Says Middle East Could Demand 3350 New Airplanes Over 20 Years

Boeing Says Middle East Could Demand 3350 New Airplanes Over 20 Years”

"Traffic growth in the Middle East is expected to grow at 5.6 percent annually during the next 20 years", said Randy Tinseth, Vice President of Marketing, Boeing Commercial Airplanes.

The pilot and technician outlook from U.S. plane manufacturer Boeing showed an 8.6 per cent increase in regional demand for pilots to 63,000 and a 4.3 per cent increase in demand for cabin crew to 96,000, compared to a year ago.

However, a higher percentage of cabin crew will be needed on twin-aisle planes due to regulation requiring that more staff are present on larger jets. "It is an exciting time to explore how we can use cutting-edge tools and technology today to train these crews for tomorrow".

Due to the region's proximity to the rest of the world strong long-term demand for twin-aisle airplanes, which had been expected to account for nearly half of new airplanes delivered to the Middle East and more than 70% of the total sales value to the region at $520bn, was reinforced after Emirates announced a commitment to purchase 40 787-10 Dreamliners in a deal valued at $15.1bn. Almost half of new pilots and technicians will be needed to support single-aisle airplanes, and the other half will be needed to support twin-aisle airplanes.

13, Boeing announced its latest forecast, highlighting that the Middle East would be in need of 3,350 airplanes over the next 20 years, valued at $730 billion.

Boeing Global Services, headquartered in the Dallas area, was formed by integrating the services capabilities of the government, space and commercial sectors into a single, customer-focused business.

Meanwhile, Boeing's presence and support for the Middle East also includes Global Services, the company's third and newest business unit which is expanding its service offerings to better support the region's airlines and aircraft.
