Facebook Stories Will Now Show Up Inside Messenger App

Facebook Stories Will Now Show Up Inside Messenger App”

The company now has a Snapchat Stories clone for WhatsApp, Messenger, and its core social network.

Now, Facebook is consolidating things a bit.

Meanwhile, Facebook is also launching Facebook Stories for its stripped app for the developing world, Facebook Lite.

While there's no need to manually cross-post anything anymore, you can choose who sees your post. If none of those sounds ideal, you can either make a custom list or hide Stories from specific people on both platforms.

Earlier this year, Facebook went kind of insane adding Snapchat Stories clones pretty much wherever it could cram in the feature-its main app, Instagram, Messenger, and WhatsApp. Having separate versions for Facebook and Messenger made no sense anyway and might be one of the reasons why they're nowhere near as successful as their counterpart on Instagram. Starting today, users of Facebook Groups and Events will be able to contribute to a Story visible to the rest of the members and moderated by the admins. However, Stories from those spots won't be available in Messenger.

The changes to Facebook Stories comes at a critical point for the company: Snapchat is expected to unveil a major overhaul of its app sometime soon to make the design a lot less confusing, and there's a decent chance of Snap succeeding at bringing its dying chatting app back to life.
