'It's been incredible,' says Sir Mo Farah on receiving knighthood from Queen”

Speaking after receiving his knighthood from the Queen at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday, the four-time Olympic champion said: "If I'm capable of getting a medal or close to a medal (in Tokyo), you will see me".

Sporting a suit and top hat for the occasion, Somalia-born Farah was honoured for his services to the sport of athletics. "She said that's marvellous", Sir Mo said.

Sir Mo revealed he is now back in London for the moment, with plans to move permanently next year.

Farah retired from the track in August to focus on road racing and has been coy about his Olympic future.

Sir Mo has not been accused of any wrongdoing and is now working with Gary Lough, who previously coached women's marathon world record holder Paula Radcliffe.

Farah was unbeaten in the 5000 and 10,000 metres at big events between 2012 and 2016, winning back-to-back doubles at the 2012 and 2016 Games as well as the 2013 and 2015 world championships.

But, now living in London after splitting from controversial coach Alberto Salazar, Farah is eager to succeed in the London Marathon.

Also due to receive an honour at the palace today is Delia Smith, who became a member of the Order of the Companions of Honour (CH) for services to cookery.

Model Erin O'Connor was awarded an MBE for services to fashion and charity, and actress Patricia Hodge an OBE for services to drama.
