McLaren announces launch date for next Ultimate Series auto”

Interestingly it fits in rather nicely alongside the first teaser image of the tri-tip exhaust which we received last month, and some very rudimentary Photoshop skills give a greater hint at what to expect from the rear of McLaren's new Ultimate Series flagship. The new model will be the most extreme road-legal McLaren ever.

The company has already teased a single image of the new car's triple-layout exhaust, and the new picture also appears to be taken from the rear end of the vehicle, showing off a rear LED and lots of naked carbonfibre. Last month, McLaren teased the triple exhaust outlets of the auto as the first teaser of the upcoming Ultimate Series model. The public debut of the new McLaren is scheduled to place in March, at the 2018 Geneva International Motor Show. Like these two cars, the new generation of McLaren Ultimate Series models will be available in strictly limited numbers. The core of McLaren's range of cars forms the Super Series, but the Ultimate Series is meant to provide a more intense driving experience.

The Ultimate Series sits above the Super Series at the top of McLaren's Track22 business strategy plan, under which the brand will invest £1 billion into research and development, and produce 15 new cars by 2022.
