Moto Tab outed by AT&T as a family-oriented deviceā€

Quick, when was the last time you heard of a Motorola tablet?

Being the first product to run Google's tablet-focused Android 3.0 Honeycomb, there was plenty of hype surrounding 2011's Motorola Xoom tablet. A lot has happened to the company since then, including changing owners twice. The Tab will pack a 7,000 mAh battery while running on Android Nougat 7.1 out of the box.

Motorola's Moto Tab has been launched for AT&T in the United States, and it will be available starting November 17. The device will be powered by octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 clocked up to 2.0 GHz along with 2 GB RAM and 32 GB internal storage. This isn't going to do well for heavy-duty binging. The Motorola Moto Tab Android tablet is also fitted with dual speakers and Dolby Atmos audio technology to combine with the FHD IPS screen to deliver cinematic experience.

If the specs, not to mention the straightforward name, reminds you of Lenovo's own tablets, you wouldn't be too far from the mark.

Lenovo's acquisition of Motorola may not have met the company's expectations but there's still plenty of value in the Moto brand.

The Moto Tab goes on sale this Friday, but you'll have to be on AT&T if you want to get your hands on it. The retail cost of the unit is $299.99 or if purchased with on a contract will cost $15 a month for 20 months.

Customers will also soon be able to purchase additional accessories like the Lenovo Home Assistant Pack with a stand that includes dual mics and a 3x speaker, and the Lenovo Productivity Pack that offers a Bluetooth ThinkPad keyboard with Touchpad mouse. The device features different modes including TV Mode that allows to quickly access favourite shows, movies and content in a single swipe from either home screen or lock screen.
