Watch Eagles of Death Metal's Solemn Return to Paris' Bataclan Memorial

Watch Eagles of Death Metal's Solemn Return to Paris' Bataclan Memorial”

Members of Eagles of Death Metal played a brief surprise set in Paris on Monday, 13 November, in honour of the victims and survivors of the Bataclan terrorist attack two years ago.

The band's concert turned into a bloodbath on 13 November 2015, when terrorists claiming allegiance to Isis opened fire inside the Bataclan venue. They performed "I Love You All the Time" and "Save a Prayer", the latter of which was the last song they had completed before the attack, and gave out white roses to the attendees. The memorial began with a moment of silence and reading of the names of those killed.

They notably played the song - Save A Prayer - that they had just finished performing when the violence struck, according to French news source 20 Minutes.

Hughes - who is said to be a supporter of gun carrying in the United States - had reportedly expressed doubt over the capabilities of the Bataclan security team, and also appeared in an interview with a far-right publication, alleging that he had seen "Muslims celebrating in the street during the attack". The statement reads, "We continue to stand with Jesse & Eagles of Death Metal". We watched people give their lives for their friends and we were able to bear witness to that.

Sting was the first to perform at the reopened venue, a year after 90 people died.
