Jason Aldean Initially Thought the Las Vegas Shooting Was a Blown Speaker

Jason Aldean Initially Thought the Las Vegas Shooting Was a Blown Speaker”

An anonymous businessman surprised attendees by bidding $6,000 on a guitar signed by Jason Aldean and Luke Bryan, donating $4,000, then announcing he would give $5,000 for each of the 58 people killed during the Route 91 Harvest Festival on October 1 - a total of $300,000. "When it first happened, I thought a speaker had blown is what I thought", he said. It just sounded like a crackling something.

Aldean and his crew managed to escape unharmed, and he cancelled three tour dates in the immediate aftermath of the tragedy so he could spend some time with his loved ones and try and collect his thoughts. "Then I was actually getting aggravated, so I looked over at my monitor guy that's on the side of the stage as if to say, 'What is that and fix it.' And when I turned to look, my guitar player had run behind me and was telling me to move", Aldean chronicled, adding his security guard came to quickly escort him away from the madness. It was so hectic, I mean you just, everybody was scrambling.

He shared, "We were texting Aldean and he's texting us back, saying, 'It was the scariest moment, I hope you never have to go through it, ' and you know, I've never told him I loved him ever before, and that was the first thing (I told him), 'I love you buddy, so much, so glad you're safe'". "I hope you never have to go through it, '" Kelley said. "Some of this stuff you never get over", he said.

"Panic was probably the best way I could describe it", he said. "So it was just kinda insane, pandemonium", he said. "We didn't have a lot of time to process it".

Since the shooting, Aldean has supported the victims by releasing the cover of Tom Petty's "I Won't Back Down" he performed for his surprise return to the stage on Saturday Night Live, with all proceeds going to the Direct Impact Fund to help survivors.

Jason Aldean's first TV interview since the Vegas shooting is here.

"Honestly, being back on stage probably helped us more than anything, which is insane", the star remarked. "At the end of the day, we're all in this together".

Country music stars gathered at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee, on Sunday for a benefit concert, raising more than $4 million for victims of the Las Vegas shooting and people affected by recent hurricanes.

Aldean also opened up about what he witnessed the night of the shooting.

"I feel like at the end of the day there's so much focus on you know, politics, and race, and all these other things", he said. "That's really the problem".
