Nicki Minaj Takes Her Mother to Visit Brother in Jail

Nicki Minaj Takes Her Mother to Visit Brother in Jail”

Sources tell us she has not had a close relationship with her brother, Jelani Maraj, since he was charged for raping his 11-year-old stepdaughter.

Nicki was reportedly escorting her mother, Carol, who went to see her boy after the guilty verdict but needed moral support. He is now facing 25 years to life behind bars but plans to appeal, according to his lawyer David Schwartz.

Nicki Minaj and her brother Jelani Maraj. The child was the daughter of Maraj's then-wife, Jacqueline Robinson.

As for her brother, Nicki has not commented publicly about his conviction. Maraj knew the boy saw the whole thing and slapped him in the face and told him not to tell anyone otherwise he wouldn't see his mother ever again.

Furthermore, DNA evidence corroborated the allegations, considering the semen sample on the pajama's matched the DNA of Maraj. A scientist testified that a stain on a pair of the victim's pajama trousers contained semen that was a one in 291 billion match to Maraj, but the defense argued that the trousers may have been cross-contaminated with other laundry. Minaj did not testify in the trial.
