New England Patriots radio commentator cheers on Rob Gronkowski's late hit

New England Patriots radio commentator cheers on Rob Gronkowski's late hit”

The league suspended the New England Patriots tight end Monday afternoon for just one game without pay, for his dirty slam job on a Buffalo Bills defender in Sunday's game. Gronk apologized for the hit, but said after the game that he was frustrated by inconsistent calls against him. "The (NFL's) competition committee has clearly expressed its goal of 'eliminating flagrant hits that have no place in our game.' Those hits include the play you were involved in yesterday". "The whole hood want Gronk, for sure".

Gronkowski put White in concussion protocol after driving his forearm into the back of the Bills cornerback's head while he was laying on the ground partially out of bounds. "And then when you look at the non football act, the only thing and you want to look at history and precedent". "It wasn't away from the ball, it wasn't a kicker, a defenseless player, it was a guy getting ready to make a tackle - a much bigger football player".

Gronkowski was flagged for unnecessary roughness on the play, but surprisingly, he wasn't ejected for the hit. "When you see a shot like that, I don't care".

"I know what I saw", he said, via ESPN. "When you see a shot like that - if I'm the coach, yeah, you want to play smart, you don't want to play dirty, you don't want to get that penalty and all that". On Monday, Bills coach Sean McDermott disagreed with the idea that his players failed to stick up for White. Former NFL team doctor David Chao later wrote online in his sports-injuries column for the San Diego Union-Tribune that "McDermott was correct to say Taylor is day-to-day" with this type of injury, and that if he "can effectively tolerate the pain, Taylor could start this week". "And I'm also proud to a point of the poise that we showed". The referees handle things and we have to play within the rules. Because that's important as we build this thing, that we're doing things the right way.
