White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said Tuesday that some Democrats visited with President Trump this week for a "relaxed time".

"He's invited them to come to the White House on several occasions".

Sanders was answering a question from a reporter about a New York Times article published last weekend, which reported that the Pentagon spent $22 million between 2008 and 2011 on a secretive program to research unidentified flying objects and the potential threats they posed.

She mentioned that Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.V.) and Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) and a "handful of others".

She said Trump would have been happy to collaborate with Democrats on a tax bill that will give middle-class Americans more money in their paychecks and businesses more money to reinvest in the US economy. She also noted that he was always welcoming of Democratic input. They should've been begging and banging down the door of the building behind me to be part of this process and to be part of helping more Americans be more successful.
