Did Officials Miss a False Start on Alabama's Game-Tying Touchdown?”

Saban has led the Tide to four national championships since 2009, and the last three national championship games.

Alabama beat Georgia, 26-23, in the college football championship on Monday after inserting Tagovailoa into the game in the second half.

The Crimson Tide won in a thrilling overtime game, 26-23.

Alabama hadn't been held scoreless in the first half since last season.

Not for long. Tagovailoa looked off the safety threw the biggest touchdown pass in the history of Alabama football.

The talented lefty passer lived up to every bit of his recruiting hype, in the most high-profile, high-pressure situation imaginable, a relief appearance with the national championship on the line and zero points on the scoreboard.

On the first play of overtime, Tagovailoa was dropped for a 16-yard sack.

Alabama's newfound spark was briefly extinguished.

Tagovailoa is a true freshman QB, but had actually gotten a good amount of experience during the season, throwing 53 pass attempts for over 400 yards, with eight touchdowns and one interception.

But Fromm's next pass bounced off an Alabama player's helmet and into the hands of Raekwon Davis, and Saban kept his trust in his own true freshman.

The Tide has risen again.

Georgia got into the end zone, but not with Fromm behind center. The teams entered the final minute of play tied at 20-20. Tagovailoa was forced to scramble to escape pressure.

For the second straight week, Georgia was going to overtime. It steadily moved into field-goal range, helped by a Bulldogs' face-mask penalty, Alabama controlled its fate.

Instead, the reign of Alabama continues for yet another year.

The all-Southeastern Conference matchup was all Georgia in the first half before Saban pulled Hurts and went with the five-star recruit from Hawaii.

"'Ball. Play your game".

"He's built for stuff like this", he added. He has the "it" factor. I'm so happy for Alabama fans.

Hurts couldn't have handled the moment any better. He did this all after halftime, against a talented Georgia defense that stifled the Alabama offense throughout the first half. "That Tua thought he should have been the starting quarterback and outperformed him in practice and coach never gave him an opportunity".

"I couldn't be prouder of him taking advantage of the opportunity". So he'll sit for a year and have three years to play. "He certainly did a great job tonight". No former assistant coach has ever beaten Saban.

The game pitted Georgia's potent running game against Alabama's stout rushing defense. It paid off. The quarterbacks bought in, the team bought in and Tagovailoa rewarded Saban's trust.

We'll see what happens in the offseason.
