History repeated itself as Blind Cricket World cup defending champions India beat Pakistan convincingly by seven wickets at the Ajman Oval stadium in UAE on Friday, January 12.

In reply Indian comfortably chased the target in 34.5 overs by losing only 3 wickets.

India won the toss and chose to bowl first.

Pakistani blind cricket team are leading the points table after registering back-to-back victories against Bangladesh and Nepal. For India, Venkateshwara Rao scored a half century. The Man of the Match was Haryana boy Deepak Malik as he scored 79 with the help of eight fours.

With this win, India top their group, followed by Pakistan.

The world cup is being played in Pakistan and India but the match between two arch-rival teams moved to a neutral location after Indian government refused to send its team to Pakistan.

India, on the other hand, defeated Sri Lanka by six wickets in their second match courtesy Deepak Malik's unbeaten 179 off 103 balls.

Few of the names featuring in the tournament, like India's Prithvi Shaw, Australia's Austin Waugh and South Africa's Thando Ntini have already attracted many eyeballs. This is the third time the tournament is being held in New Zealand, after 2002 and 2010.
