Tonya Harding: 'I knew something was up' prior to Nancy Kerrigan attack

Tonya Harding: 'I knew something was up' prior to Nancy Kerrigan attackā€

When asked about Hollywood's portrayal of herself, Kerrigan said, "It's not really part of my life".

"I didn't abuse any of my children", "Spanked?"

"I did, however, overhear them talking about stuff, where, 'Well, maybe we should take somebody out so we can make sure she gets on the team.' And I remember telling them, I go, 'What the hell are you talking about?"

Golden admitted one incident from the movie did occur. It was she who squandered the opportunities she was given to win two Olympic medals.

During the special, Harding also told ABC News' Amy Robach that she knew of ex-husband Jeff Gillooly's plan to hurt her biggest rival, Nancy Kerrigan, before the 1994 Winter Olympics. Later, authorities discovered that Harding's ex-husband and bodyguard masterminded the attack in hopes of improving Harding's chances at the US Trials and the Olympics.

He added, "L$3 et us not lose sight of the fact that Tonya Harding is no hero". Harding was in attendance, and Kerrigan said she did not watch.

In the movie, Harding was shot and she actually was in real life. Pascal Rondeau, Getty Images U.S. figure skating champion Tonya Harding (R) listens to her coach Diane Rawlinson during a practice session. What happened to Nancy Kerrigan is despicable. "I won't applaud her and I stand for Nancy".

Back in 1994, Harding claimed she didn't know about the attack. Moments later Harding interrupted her program because of problems with her skates. Harding, who was charged for hindering the prosecution, was sentenced to three years of probation, 500 hours of community service and ordered to pay a $16,000 fine.

When Kerrigan was asked if the Cobo Arena attack in Detroit is where her popularity came from, she took issue with the implication. Simon Bruty, Getty Images Jeff Gillooy, ex-husband of figure skater Tonya Harding, is escorted out of the Federal Bureau of Investigation office after surrendering shortly after a warrant for his arrest was issued. In both cases, U.S. Figure Skating and U.S. skating judges made those decisions, and most assuredly wanted Harding to succeed.

"Not right now", she told The Boston Globe. However, the award-winning figure skater has no opinion whatsoever because she has not found the time to sit and watch the movie. For more than 20 years, she denied knowing anything about the scheme. Steve Slocum, AP Tonya Harding's coach Diane Rawlinson speaks to reporters outside her home.

That's not including her mother LaVona "Sandy" Golden's allegedly brutal treatment of her, including an incident in which she reportedly threw a knife at her daughter. "All I was trying to do was, and she's a brilliant example of this, is analyze how we are with the media and our consumption of it and how we simplify and victimize people".
