WH's Miller Responds: CNN Has 'Very Low Journalistic Standards'”

White House senior policy adviser Stephen Miller attacked a new book about the inner workings of President Donald Trump's White House as "grotesque" and "fiction" in a tense interview Sunday, NBC News reported.

Tapper, a Philly native, first listened to Miller bash Michael Wolff's "grotesque" new book "Fire and Fury", which paints a disturbing picture of dysfunction inside the Trump administration.

Miller is right to be questioning Wolff's book, of course. "It's an amusing story but not a true one", said Miller.

Twelve minutes in, Tapper could take no more, calling Miller "obsequious" for his seeming attempt to score points with President Trump.

Miller's interview with Tapper was extremely contentious, and ended when Tapper chose to abandon the segment and move on to other subjects. My question is, but they thought you were a threat.

"You worked hand in glove with Steve Bannon in the White House and on the campaign", Tapper asked.

To this, Miller responded by stating that the president has been talking about trade, immigration and other salient issues to the working class for years. He also lauded Trump as a "political genius".

Tapper interrupted Miller there, saying, "I'm sure he's watching and he's happy that you said that".

This article has been updated to include that Miller was reportedly escorted from the CNN set, as well as the post-show transcript.

"I think I have wasted enough of my viewers' time", Tapper told Miller as he abruptly ended the aide's air-time.

Miller could be heard protesting off-camera while Tapper moved on to the next segment.
