Some say Trump's message of strong America 'good for everybody'”

Before a global audience, Trump will argue that "America First does not mean America alone".

Threats of mass boycotts of the speech appeared not to materialize. She sat in the audience while Trump spoke wearing a t-shirt that read "not my president". He is touting efforts to cut taxes and reduce regulations and says a booming USA economy is good for Switzerland.

Unsurprisingly, U.S. President Donald Trump themed his presidential debut at Davos around "America First", but will that lead to the fair trade he has been calling for?

"I suspect a lot of people in the room were feeling so overwhelmed by the power in the room that they were too intimidated to express their views and feelings".

Jeff Huber, CEO of Home Instead Senior Care, is a Trump supporter who finds much to like in Trump's message, but he sees where it could fall short for the elite global audience gathered in this Alpine resort.

"I've always loved business", he said.

During his roughly 15-minute speech, Trump spent about 12 minutes speaking about the prosperous and lucrative USA economy that would flourish under his America First policy. The franchises, he said, operate as small businesses with $1 million to $2 million in annual sales.

It was an odd thing to say given that there are no military threats to Britain right now, and the joint defence roles of the United States and UK in North Atlantic Treaty Organisation weren't really in doubt. "I think his message of a strong America is good for everybody".

"Fake news, folks. Typical New York Times fake stories", he said. But the thrust of his visit has been to convince business leaders to step up investment in the US.

"We are creating an environment that rewards".

Unemployment's down. Business and consumer optimism is up. One of the president's fiercest critics said that Trump's speech wasn't bad, for Trump.

Trump says a businessman had never been elected president.

Stanley Bergman, CEO of Henry Schein, a company that provides medical, dental and veterinary products, called the speech "well constructed".

"I have to separate the person from the administration and policy", Goings said.

The Davos elite are keen now to see which version of Trump will speak on Friday - the business-friendly tycoon or the leader who berated the rest of the world at the UN General Assembly last September.

Forgive the wealthy elites, central bankers and assorted other globalists at Davos if they looked past Trump's insistence that his "America First" agenda would benefit the world, not just his country, or his dubious commitment to free trade, or the reminder that he's trying to restrict USA immigration and take in fewer refugees.

He said: "If Mueller also has evidence that the Trump campaign co-ordinated with the Russians, the President's attempt to fire Mueller only invites an obstruction charge". Speaking in Davos at the WEF, he said Israel will not allow Iran to acquire nuclear weapons and maintained that the USA deciding against continuing Iranian sanctions was not a negative development as it was a bad deal in the first place.
