Trump apologizes for retweeting anti-Muslim videos

Trump apologizes for retweeting anti-Muslim videos”

After Trump retweeted the videos, Fransen expressed joy over the move, tweeting "God Bless You Trump!" and noting that the USA president has 44 million Twitter followers. However, two of the videos have been debunked.

Trump also claimed that he had a "very good relationship" with British Prime Minister Theresa May.

The three videos (now deleted from Twitter) that Trump retweeted were titled, "Muslim migrant beats up Dutch boy on crutches!", "Muslim destroys a statue of Virgin Mary!" and "Islamist mob pushes teenage boy off roof and beats him to death!"

During a sit down with Piers Morgan, the president nearly apologized for retweeting anti-Muslim and anti-immigrant videos by a British far-right political group on his Twitter.

"I didn't do it. I support her. I support a lot of what she does and a lot of what she says", he said.

"Certainly I wasn't endorsing anybody".

But in a "Good Morning Britain" interview with Piers Morgan during his trip to Davos this week, Trump apparently apologized after all. "Here's what's fair. If you're telling me these are horrible people - horrible, racist people - I would certainly apologize, if you'd like me to do that", he said of Britain First. "I know nothing about them (Britain First), I know nothing about them today, other than I read a little bit".

Trump said that he was the "least racist person that anybody's going to meet" and that his retweet was not an endorsement. I don't say anything you know why?

Trump and May agreed Thursday at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland for a Trump visit to Britain in the summer, The Times reported. "I don't know anything about what you're even talking about with white supremacy or white supremacists, so, I don't know...."

At that White House meeting past year, May invited Trump for an official state visit to Britain, which traditionally would include pomp, parades and time with Queen Elizabeth II. She publicly called Trump out as "wrong" for the move.

The pair have been amiable since Morgan, who has described the president as a "good friend", won the U.S. reality show Celebrity Apprentice in 2008 - which was judged by Mr Trump.

"Not many have succeeded in getting one", said Mr Cox, who was among those who rebuked Mr Trump for promoting the far-right group. The full interview is to be broadcast on Sunday.

He added that "the real me is somebody that loves Britain" and that he sees it as a special place with special people.

"A lot of people think we don't", he said.
