Cast Of 'Martin' Reunites, For Lunch

Cast Of 'Martin' Reunites, For Lunch”

With news of Martin reboot in the works and her new single now out, Campbell-Martin is excited about what lies ahead for her.

The show ended in 1997 following a rift between Campbell and Martin Lawrence which led to her being absent from most of the final series - although she did return for the two-part season finale.

We got Martin Lawrence (aka Martin Payne), Tisha Campbell-Martin (aka Gina) and Tichina Arnold (aka Pamela) leaving Morton's Steakhouse in Burbank Thursday, so we had to ask if the rumors are true ... and it sure seems like they are. So, I can't tell you guys anything but it is very exciting. "I can't tell you, but it has been an honor to be Gina for all these years". "Can you make me safe and sound / Can you make my love come down?"

When asked if the new show will talk about politics, Arnold said: "We would definitely want to be current".

Later in the interview, Lawrence again basically confirmed something is in the works, saying that they don't have to do the show the same and it just needs to be amusing and "heartfelt". "And we would love to recreate it and just bring it back alive and give credence to it". Since going off the air in 1997 after a well-publicized fallout between Campbell and Lawrence, a reboot seemed almost impossible. When the show debuted in 1992, it quickly became a staple in black households, catapulting Martin Lawrence to superstar fame.
