Intel's chips can now tweak your games' graphics for the best results

Intel's chips can now tweak your games' graphics for the best results”

According to a report by PCWorld Intel is now updating its graphics control software, and giving it a significant boost. A new driver update for its 6th-gen Core processors and above will configure a game to your rig's specs automatically.

This new feature is present in Intel's latest driver update, which includes support for Kaby Lake G chips, which contain AMD's Radeon Vega M graphics built in.

The feature is in beta, and you can find fine-tine everything in the graphics control panel under a new gaming icon. So you might see it with computers from companies like Asus, Dell, Acer and HP amongst others. The first games to benefit from this include Battlefield 1, Dota 2, Grand Theft Auto V, League of Legends and Overwatch.

In addition to automatically optimizing game settings in the above games, Intel is pitching this as a launch driver for Age of Empires: Definitive Edition and Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age HD.

Will that be enough to help Intel stave off competition from AMD, which already offers a number of Ryzen Mobile processors with integrated Radeon Vega graphics?

Intel's service will compete with Nvidia's GeForce Experience, which tweaks game settings for laptops and PCs, and also allows users to capture and share videos. The company claims it will add more games soon.

The update also promises better visual performance while working with video. The improvements to integrated graphics gaming from both companies are especially welcome as high cryptocurrency demand drives GPU prices up.
