Dolphins to sign Albert Wilson

Dolphins to sign Albert Wilson”

The ex-K.C. wideout is the third receiver to agree to a deal before the NFL's new league year opens Wednesday, joining Allen Robinson (Bears) and Sammy Watkins (Chiefs). He'd been a steady complementary option for the team, also posting career-high numbers across the board last season with 42 receptions for 554 yards and three touchdowns.

The 25-year-old Wilson had a sneaky-hot market for a player few fans outside of Kansas City (and certain hotbeds in the Fantasy Football community) were comprehensively aware of heading into free agency.

A rumor this morning put the pricetag for Wilson in the three year $24 million range but without knowing specifics of the deal it's hard to see what the value of the contract would be.

Albert Wilson was a popular choice to become the next slot receiver for the Chicago Bears. It appears that would be the case and it would give Adam Gase a chance to open his offense more. While Tyreek Hill was the wide receiver who took his fair share of handoffs with the Chiefs, but Wilson occasionally lined up in the backfield as well. Adding a player who can make plays as a slot receiver or at the "F" position, as well as in the backfield adds another dimension to the Dolphins' offense. Is that a result of system, Alex Smith, or talent?
