Pacers edge Sixers in a possible Eastern Conference first-round playoff preview”

This game also marked Booker's first game against the Sixers since being waived on February 28.

The game featured two of the league's top young centers in Embiid and Myles Turner.

Pacers: Booker, who averaged 4.7 points and 3.7 rebounds in 33 games with the 76ers this season before signing with in on March 3, had five points and six rebounds in 17 minutes.

Once again, IN took command.

Turner led IN with 25 points on 9-of-12 shooting to go along with six rebounds.

Tuesday night, the 6th-place Sixers faced the 3rd-place Pacers, just two games separating them in the standings. After Oladipo was denied at the rim, the Sixers broke the other way and Redick had an open look to tie the game, but missed long.

The Pacers and Sixers traded barbs for the remainder of the quarter and IN led 57-53 going into halftime.

The Sixers got 16 points from JJ Redick, and 18 from Dario Saric. Saric scored nine of his 11 in the second quarter. He had five points and six rebounds in 17 minutes, 27 seconds.

The Sixers biggest issue in the first half was not the play of the Pacers, but their 12 turnovers that constantly fed the Pacers momentum. The Pacers only turned it over three times in the first half.

When Embiid hit a layup with 46.1 seconds left, the Sixers closed within 99-96. Former Sixer Thaddeus Young scored six of his 11 third quarter points as soon as Simmons left and helped IN take a 80-71 lead. Embiid missed a three-pointer, and that was it.

IN led by as many as 11 points in the opening frame and took a 33-23 lead into the second quarter. That good luck appeared to run out when Oladipo buried a three to extend the Pacers lead to eight.

With less than a minute to go J.J. Redick hit a quick three following two free throws from Thaddeus Young to shrink the IN lead to five points. Simmons tied Magic Johnson for the second-most triple-doubles by a rookie in NBA History. He also made 2 of 4 three-pointers.

However, things started to get heated as the Sixers mounted a comeback.

Joel Embiid answered with another posterizing dunk.

Earlier, Stephenson took exception to a hard foul by Simmons with 7:53 left in the second quarter, angrily getting up and pointing at Simmons. That gave the Sixers the ball with 7.6 seconds.

Oladipo won the tip to Bogdanovic on the baseline, who threw the ball off of Simmons to put the finishing touches on the victory.

The key stat of the night was turnovers, where the Sixers committed 21 to the Pacers' nine.

Thaddeus Young added 19 points and 10 rebounds for the surprising Pacers (40-28), who overcame an off shooting night by leading scorer Victor Oladipo to win their third straight and improve to a season-high 12 games over.500.

The Sixers committed 21 turnovers in the game, which in translated into 29 points. Robert Covington manufactured a 10-point, 10-rebound double-double.

Ben Simmons registered his seventh triple-double of the season with 10 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists.

Elsewhere, the Los Angeles Clippers retained their place in a play-offs spot with a 112-106 win over the Chicago Bulls while the Dallas Mavericks defeated the New York Knicks 110-97.
