This is a gaming smartphone that comes not too long after Xiaomi partnered with Black Shark Technology, a gaming company in the natives of China. Not only doesn't comes with a bigger screen, the Black Shark has a Full-HD+ resolution on an 18:9 display panel.

Other noteworthy tech specs include a liquid cooled Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor with options for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage version for 3499 CNY (~RM2163) and a 6GB RAM + 64GB storage version going for 2999 CNY (~RM1854).

The smartphone will also have a multi-stage direct-touch integrated liquid cooling system to prevent the handset from overheating.

In terms of dimensions, the Black Shark measures 161.62mm x 75.4mm x 9.25mm. It supports DCI-P3 Wide colour gamut that goes up to 97 percent. The device also has MEMC intelligent motion compensation technology that ensures vibrant color reproduction and smoother video quality while playing games. The device has a dual-rear camera setup with a 20MP sensor and a 12MP sensor, both with f/1.75 aperture and LED flash. On the front, it has a 20MP snapper with f/2.2 aperture.

The Black Shark runs Android 8.0 Oreo Out-of-the-box with a skinned Joy UI layered on top. Sensors onboard are Gyroscope, Geomagnetic, Gravity Sensor, Proximity Sensor, and Ambient Light sensor. A Shark button on the left allows owners to devote all hardware resources towards a game to get the maximum performance out of the device. The phone also features an independent image processing chip, which claimed to provide better graphics. The controller itself will be sold seperately at a retail price of 179 Yuan (~RM110). The device can be connected to the phone via Bluetooth and it has a 340 mAh battery which can last up to 30 gaming hours. It can connect to any smartphone using Bluetooth, provided they are running on Android 4.4 and above.

If you are into Gaming phones - that's to say if such a category really exists - then you might want to look at the Xiaomi-backed offering, the Black Shark phone. We saw the images on TENAA and we're more than convinced now the device is nearly ready to be released in China. Notably, the smartphone will ship in two colour models - Polar Night and Sky Grey.

While the Black Shark is available now in China, GSM Arena's info suggests worldwide buyers will have to wait until April 20.
