Ryan Reynolds & Samuel L. Jackson Returning For The Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard

Ryan Reynolds & Samuel L. Jackson Returning For The Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard”

The Hitman's Bodyguard was written by Tom O'Connor (Fire with Fire), who is set to pen the screenplay for the sequel.

Announced at Cannes (via Millennium Films" "look at our franchises!' slate advertistment, see below), a sequel to last year's "The Hitman's Bodyguard".

The Hitman's Bodyguard, for me at least, was a film with an terrible lot of promise, but simply not enough good jokes.

No script has yet been finalized for the follow-up feature. While casting has not yet been confirmed, it is believed that Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool 2) and Samuel L. Jackson (Glass) will be reprising their roles. Director Patrick Hughes is also expected to return to direct, but that hasn't been confirmed yet, either. The movie took just north of $175m at the global box office off a modest budget, has hit big on home formats, and is thus getting the sequel treatment. Moreover, the title of the sequel seemingly suggests that the follow-up will focus more heavily on Salma Hayek's Sonia Kincaid (the wife of Jackson's Darius Kincaid), so it seems logical that numerous original players could return.
