EPL: Fabregas reveals Chelsea's biggest regret this season

EPL: Fabregas reveals Chelsea's biggest regret this season”

Cesc Fabregas said that a lack of ruthlessness in front of goal has been the main reason why Chelsea have fallen so far short of defending their Premier League title this season.

The Spanish global believes that Chelsea have been converting their chances of late and keeping clean sheets as well, which is exactly the reason they are winning.

But according to Fabregas, the biggest let down for Chelsea this season has been their finishing which has often seen them miss out on three points. I think defensively as well, we have been keeping clean-sheets, ' said Fabregas.

'However the greatest remorse this season, it has been up entrance, not taking our possibilities. "You just have to be ready for every single game, that's why it's the most competitive league in the world and the most hard to win".

In a talk with Sky Sports, the Spanish midfielder put his close teammates in the firing line slating them by saying, "We could have won more if we had been more clinical and that's been our weakest point this season".

Olivier Giroud has largely impressed since arriving from Arsenal in January, though, with his header in the 1-0 win over Liverpool last weekend taking him to five goals in eight starts.

Oli is helping us a lot in certain things that maybe we were lacking.

Olivier Giroud has played a key role in the run, scoring four goals, and Fabregas said that the France global has made a big impact since joining Chelsea from Arsenal for £18 million in January. "This is what we want - the strikers put their chances away and make the team win points".

With two video games left to play within the Premier League, final season's champions are underdogs in a battle to complete within the prime 4. It's true that we expected to do better.

After the match with Huddersfield one player that was clearly very frustrated was Cesc Fabregas as he refused to shake Terriers manager David Wagner's hand. "Next year it will be all different".
