Piñera enfatizó que "los palestinos que llegaron a Chile a mediados del siglo XIX, y que cruzaron el mundo y la cordillera, son hoy día un pujante grupo de personas, más de 350 mil palestinos en Chile, que están prácticamente en todas las distintas áreas del quehacer de nuestro país".

"He propuesto que la Comisión Palestina-Venezuela asuma el petro como criptomoneda para el intercambio, el comercio, el pago de transacciones y se cree un fondo binacional de financiamiento para el desarrollo conjunto", comentó. Entre los acuerdos suscritos destacan la cooperación bilateral en el sector turismo, empresarial y militar.

Durante esta reunión, el mandatario venezolano firmo decretos que establecen la constitución de dos empresas mixtas entre Venezuela y Palestina, una para el trabajo de explotación minera (oro, diamante, cobre, coltán) y la otra compañía mixta para la comercialización de los productos mineros a trabajar conjuntamente.

El presidente de la Autoridad Nacional Palestina (ANP), Mahmud Abás, pidió ayer a los países de América no trasladar sus embajadas a Jerusalén, como Estados Unidos que inaugurará su misión diplomática ante Israel en esta ciudad el próximo lunes.

"Esperamos que algunos países del continente americano no vayan a trasladar sus embajadas a Jerusalén, porque contradice la legalidad internacional".

Durante el encuentro, Maduro también ratificó su apoyo a la lucha del pueblo de Palestina por ser una nación libre.

"Somos un pueblo de paz. Los pueblos árabes deben saber que tienen en el Gobierno venezolano un amigo", agregó.

En este contexto, Jamal Foqha, estudiante palestino del tercer año de Medicina Integral Comunitaria de la UBV, agradeció al Presidente Nicolás Maduro por brindarle la oportunidad de estudiar en Venezuela. "Es una decisión ilegal que desconoce los mandatos de las Naciones Unidas", añadió.

"Tenemos que hacer de la alianza Palestina-Venezuela, una poderosa alianza económica, financiera comercial, sobre la base del amor y la solidaridad entre nuestros pueblos", expresó Maduro en transmisión de VTV.
