Trump's Decision On Iran May Be His Biggest Mistake Yet”

Oil-rich Saudi Arabia has long said it would match any Iranian weapons development, but Jubeir's renewed vow came after US President Donald Trump pulled the United States out of an accord created to prevent Tehran's alleged quest for the bomb.

"Why would Kim. believe any commitments President Trump makes when he arbitrarily tears up an agreement with which the other party is complying?" he asked on Twitter.

Now Trump - after citing the Israeli exposure of Iranian secret document - has vowed to impose the "highest level of economic sanctions" to deter Tehran's pursuit of nuclear weapons. He said that China wanted to "ensure the integrity and sanctity" of a pact that Beijing believes was important for curbing nuclear proliferation and promoting stability in the Middle East.

Increased geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, plunging Venezuelan production, and now the USA withdrawal from the Iran nuclear deal could push Brent Crude prices to $82.50 a barrel by summer, Goldman Sachs said Wednesday.

The Foreign Secretary vowed Britain "has no intention of walking away" from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) despite the US President's decision to pull out of the global agreement with Iran.

The leaders of France, Germany and the United Kingdom have also emphasised their continuing commitment to the agreement, which was signed in July 2015 by Iran and the E3/EU+3 (China, France, Germany, Russia, the United Kingdom and the US - also referred to as the P5+1 - plus the European Union) and implemented in January 2016.

The pledges came as Iran's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei told the government in Tehran it too should quit the nuclear deal unless Europeans offer solid guarantees that trade relations would continue. Yet nations like Israel and Saudi Arabia that loathed the deal are likely to see it as a sign the United States is returning to a more skeptical, less trusting approach to dealing with adversaries.

"But for Canada's objective, we make our decisions around foreign policy here in Ottawa, not in Washington, not elsewhere".

France's finance minister says Europe isn't US 'vassal,' should trade with Iran

But Iranian hard-liners expressed joy at Mr. Trump's decision.

Members of Russia's Permanent Security Council, at a meeting with Russian president Vladimir Putin, today expressed their "deep concern" over the U.S. decision and highlighted the importance of the document.

French President Emmanuel Macron said Wednesday that he spoke with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on Wednesday to reaffirm France's commitment to the original deal, but that Tehran must respect the accord in its entirety if the European Union coalition is to succeed in keeping the agreement intact. He also said Trump's remarks threatened both Iran's people and its theocratic government.

More recently, the President has leaned on European partners to "fix the awful flaws" in the deal as a last resort.

Trump on Wednesday expressed pessimism that tensions between the US and Iran would ease anytime soon.

"With a national consensus, we will give the USA and Zionists a response that they will regret", Larijani said, according to the Mehr news agency.

Speaking after Donald Trump's announcement, President Rouhani said there was a "short time" to negotiate with the countries who remain committed to a multinational nuclear deal.
