Google Pixel Buds get 2 new gestures and easy Bluetooth switching”

Despite significant flaws, I liked them quite a lot in my review, but plenty across tech media did not.

The new triple tap gesture (above), Google's general attitude when it comes to the Pixel Buds (below).

User will be able to do a couple new things with Google Pixel Buds - two with tapping, and a third with pairing.

The final - of three - updates that'll be arriving for Google Pixel Buds is what Waraich called "Pairing devices made easy". Simply double tap the right earbud will skip the now playing song, so it's a great way to navigate through a playlist without needing to take out your phone. To activate this setting, users will need to go into Pixel Buds settings inside the Google Assistant app. That's not the sort of tap you're going to do accidentally.

One of the complaints levied at the devices was a lack of controls and customizable gestures. Just select the Bluetooth menu on whatever device you've previously paired the Pixel Buds with and you can select them to connect to again. Even still, there have been a number of highly requested features since their launch, and Google has listened and is introducing two new gestures and Bluetooth switching on-device.

For those unfamiliar, the Google Pixel Buds are the official Google-branded wireless earbuds. The update rolls out beginning today and should be available to most users by early next week.
