Rapper TI arrested outside his Atlanta-area home

Rapper TI arrested outside his Atlanta-area home”

T.I was arrested early Wednesday morning for disorderly conduct and public drunkenness after getting into an argument with a security guard outside of his gated community, as Atlanta's Channel 2 News reported.

T.I. found himself behind bars after an altercation with a security guard led to his arrest on Wednesday morning in Henry County, Georgia - all because he apparently forgot his keys.

His attorney, Steve Sadow, released a statement saying the rapper was wrongfully arrested. He paid a bail of $2,250.

Police tell Atlanta ABC affiliate WSB-TV that T.I., born Clifford Harris Jr.

According to police, the rapper didn't have his key and the guard wouldn't let him in.

According to police, the guard at Eagles's Landing Country Club called police on T.I. and a friend. "I guess y'all been hearing all the nonsense", he said, wearing the same shirt he wore in his mugshot. "The guard was sound asleep when Tip arrived at the guardhouse". He says he gave the guard "every opportunity" to apologize for sleeping, but the guy refused. He says the guard continued to refuse entry "without justification" before words were exchanged and police were called. Tip was in contact with "Tiny" by phone and "Tiny" confirmed that Tip should be let in immediately. He says the guard eventually called the police, but says the law enforcement near his home are "white cops in a very white area", and he was promptly arrested.

Harris served about seven months in prison in 2009 after an arrest on federal gun charges, the AP reported, and also spent about 10 months in federal prison on a probation violation in 2010 after he was arrested on drug charges in Los Angeles.

Aside from being a rapper and actor, T.I.is also a activist involved in local and national social issues.
