We could be living in a multiverse with alien neighbours, suggests study

We could be living in a multiverse with alien neighbours, suggests study”

Previous theories recommended our universe has the best quantity of dark energy, which acts versus gravity and is making the universes broaden at a sped up rate. There is the possibility of formation of many another universe parallel to us and they can also sustain life.

Using massive computer simulations of the cosmos, the researchers discovered that the addition of dark energy (as much as a few hundred times the amount that is observed in our Universe) would have a significant impact on planet and star formation.

Scientists are yet to agree on the existence of a multiverse where our universe is only one of many, but if it does, it might not be as inhospitable to life as previously thought.

Study co-author Jaime Salcido, a researcher at Durham University's Institute for Computational Cosmology, said: "For many physicists, the unexplained but seemingly special amount of dark energy in our universe is a frustrating puzzle".

The simulations were produced by a team involving scientists at Durham as well as a number of Australian universities.

The group containing analysts from England, Australia, and the Netherlands arrived at this determination subsequent to running a program called "Advancement and Assembly of Galaxies and their Environments".

"The Multiverse was previously thought to explain the observed value of dark energy as a lottery - we have a lucky ticket and live in the Universe that forms lovely galaxies which permit life as we know it", said co-lead author Dr. Luke Barnes, a researcher at Western Sydney University and the University of Sydney. Any more would cause a rapid expansion leading to the breakdown of matter before life could be formed.

The search for alien life has always been a priority for many scientists and enthusiasts alike, and the fact that this alien life is quite likely to exist outside of our universe is comforting in a way.

"We asked ourselves how much dark energy can there be before life is impossible? Even increasing dark energy many hundreds of times might not be enough to make a dead universe", added Elahi.

The numbers of universes in the multiverse could be infinite, meaning there may be infinite versions of reality, some of which are very similar to our own. The team has published its results in the journal Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society.

"I think we should look for a new physical law to explain this unusual characteristic of our universe, and the theory of multiverses has little effect on the discomfort of saving physicists". Most of the experts have said the parallel universes to be non-supporters of the evolution of life.

Overall, it's clear that our understanding of dark energy is lacking.

We would expect to see up to 50 times more in our cosmos based on the multiverse theory, they said.

" I believe we must be searching for a brand-new law of physics to discuss this unusual residential or commercial property of our Universe, and the multiverse theory does little to rescue physicists' pain.". And they find out that Dark energy plays an important role to form such conditions.
