Wow: Iceland airline to offer Delhi-New York fares from just Rs13,499”

Just days before starting its regular St. Louis-to-Iceland flights, Wow Air said Tuesday that travelers will be able to connect there to go on to Delhi, India, beginning December 5. WOW's will be the first long haul low cost route in and out of India.

Wow Air founder and chief executive officer (CEO) Skuli Mogensen said at a press conference that the company which picked New Delhi as the first city to start service in Asia is offering a one-way economy class fare from India's capital to destinations like Iceland, US, Canada and London starting from Rs13,499 inclusive of taxes. Just a 200 km road-trip away is the majestic Taj Mahal, one of the Seven Wonders of the World.

WOW air will use brand new Airbus A330neo aircrafts on the Delhi route, which are outfitted with the new WOW premium seats offering at least 37 inches of legroom.

WOW air service will launch the services in December departing from London Gatwick, via Reykjavik's Kefavik Airport and then on to Delhi.

St. Louis Lambert International Airport is among seven USA airports targeted for the special fares to India. Return flights also start at $199 one-way, meaning you can book a bare bones ticket for $398. Includes all taxes, fees and carrier charges. Seats must be purchased for travel between January 10 and March 31. So passengers travelling to the U.S. will have a stop over at Reykjavik - acting as a hub for the airline - and then take a Wow flight to the US.

WOW air offers the lowest fares, a modern fleet with the lowest emissions and the biggest smile; this is the WOW air promise to its valuable customers.

The airline now serves 39 destinations across Europe and North America including London, Paris, New York, Toronto, Baltimore, San Francisco and Chicago.

Meanwhile, the airline CEO said was optimistic about the success of the airline in India.

WOW air was ranked as the 7th best low-priced airline in Europe at the 2013, 2014 and 2015 Skytrax World Airline Awards and was the youngest airline in the top ten.
