David Warner confirmed to play for Randwick-Petersham in Sydney Grade Cricket”

David Warner is set to start next season for Sydney grade club Randwick Petersham during his year-long ban from state and worldwide cricket.

Randwick Petersham club president Mike Whitney, a former Test fast bowler said Warner will play in at least three of the first four matches of the season.

He was banned from playing any domestic and worldwide cricket by the Australian cricket board after he was found guilty in the ball-tampering fiasco along with Steve Smith and Cameron Bancroft.

"We're delighted to have him". However, the suspended Aussies were later allowed to play the grade cricket. But the trio was later cleared to play the grade cricket after which the club seems to have contacted the disgraced Australian batsman.

Earlier part of the Eastern Suburb club, Warner moved to Randwick Petersham in 2013-14 but hasn't been able to represent the team owing to his Australia, as well as Indian Premier League commitments over the years.

Warner, former captain Steve Smith, and opener Cameron Bancroft were all hit with bans following the incidents in the third Test in Cape Town.

"He's been speaking to one of our club officials and he has committed to the first three or four rounds of the season".

"Everyone is excited to have him".

Warner has been on the books at Randwick Petersham since 2013-14, but has rarely played due to state, worldwide and Indian Premier League commitments.

Fellow Australian Cameron Bancroft was also given the green light to play in Premier Cricket.
