Peyton Manning, Tiger Woods to team up in pro

Peyton Manning, Tiger Woods to team up in pro”

This is not surprising, as Woods is healthy and intends on playing a lot this year, but still, it's exciting to see Tiger back on the course consistently.

Memorial takes place a fortnight before this year's US Open at Shinnecock Hills, in Southampton, New York, where Woods will be chasing a 15th Major.

Woods will be paired with Peyton Manning during the Memorial Tournament's official Pro-Am on May 30.

On Wednesday morning, the Memorial Tournament announced Tiger plans to play.

Five-time champion Tiger Woods will play in the Memorial Tournament in OH for what is likely to be his final event before next month's US Open.

Woods finished strongly at The Players Championship in Ponte Vedra Beach last weekend, posting a seven-under 65 in the third round before closing with a three-under 69 to finish seven shots adrift of tournament victor Webb Simpson.

In his latest comeback, Woods has posted four top-12 finishes in his last six events, and ranks eighth in strokes gained on tour. Woods and Thomas join a stacked gathering that includes Masters champion Patrick Reed, Rory McIlroy, Dustin Johnson, Jason Day, Bubba Watson and defending champion Jason Dufner.

Last weekend Woods finished tied for 11th in The Players Championship after shooting 11 under for the tournament.

Woods won the tournament in 2012, 2009, 2001, 2000 and 1999.

"I'm not that far off from winning golf tournaments", Woods said after Sunday's final round of The Players.
