Bill Gates Says Trump Didn't Know The Difference Between HPV And HIV

Bill Gates Says Trump Didn't Know The Difference Between HPV And HIV”

But after Mr Trump secured the USA presidency, Mr Gates revealed he had spoken with the President on two occasions - once at Trump Tower in New York City in December 2016 and again in March 2017 at the White House.

"I didn't put him to the test, whether that was a serious thing or not", Gates said.

Gates told him "that's a dead end, that would be a bad thing, don't do that".

While speaking at an event at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the tech guru and billionaire philanthropist said that the U.S. president inquired about the difference between HIV and HPV on two separate occasions.

However, a tweet from MSNBC host Chris Hayes, whose program "All In With Chris Hayes" shared the footage, gives us a clue: "Bill Gates says that in *both* meetings he had with Trump, Trump asked if HPV and HIV were the same thing", tweeted Hayes.

"When I first talked to him it was actually kind of scary how much he knew about my daughter's appearance", Gates recalled, before adding, "Melinda [Gates, his wife] didn't like that too well". But you're Trump?' So I didn't know if the third-party form was what was expected.

Added Gates: "And I thought. Wow".

The full clip of Gates on Chris Hayes shows that Trump seemed to know an terrible lot about the Microsoft founder's daughter.

The issue of vaccines remains a controversial topic in the USA as several lawmakers and members of the public believe they cause harm.

Mr Gates said last month that Mr Trump was "super interested" in the idea of a universal flu vaccine. It is the virus that can lead to acquired immunodeficiency syndrome or AIDS if not treated.

"HPV is the most common sexually transmitted infection (STI)". In most cases, people with HPV do not have health problems, but the virus can cause cancer.

Donald Trump is so confused about the difference between HIV and Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) that he has had to ask Bill Gates to explain the difference.
