Trump weighs in on cancellation of ‘Roseanne’”

Its press secretary suggested liberal TV stars suffered no consequences for saying "the most frightful things" about President Donald Trump.

On Wednesday, he said that her tweets had been escalating in the days before she wrote a racist comment on Twitter about Valerie Jarrett, a former aide to President Barack Obama.

Many observers have been wondering when President Donald Trump, an active Twitter user who had previously called Barr to congratulate her on the big ratings earned by the "Roseanne" revival, might chime in on the controversy surrounding Barr's tweet and ABC's swift decision to cancel the show.

Barr wrote: "Guys I did something unforgiveable so do not defend me. I made a mistake I wish I hadn't.don't defend it please".

The medication's manufacturer, Sanofi U.S., responded to the comments on Wednesday, tweeting, "People of all races, religions and nationalities work at Sanofi every day to improve the lives of people around the world". Sanofi, the makers of Ambien, responded to say that "racism is not a known side effect".

In the time it took to compose a 53-character tweet, Roseanne Barr went from a hero that ABC was banking upon to unemployed.

After comparing former Obama senior advisor Valerie Jarrett to a monkey, ABC cancelled Roseanne Barr's popular sitcom.

Barr retweeted a long post by Michael Fishman, who played her son DJ on the show after he bemoaned the impact of Barr's words on the cast and crew, and said the show's story lines were often about inclusiveness.

"The president is pointing to the hypocrisy in the media", she said.

The show then aired a fake trailer for a Roseanne spinoff centered on Dan (John Goodman).

Roseanne didn't take too kindly to that as she replied: 'i created the platform for that inclusivity and you know it.ME.

It was Barr's earlier tweet about Jarrett that caused outrage and ultimately led to the show's cancellation.

She also blamed the inflammatory post on sleeping pills, saying she had been "ambien tweeting". "I apologize from the bottom of my heart and hope you can find it in your hearts to forgive me".

Jarrett has since stressed that Barr's remarks should be seen as "a teaching moment". Disney owns both the ABC television group and ABC News.

Disney is the parent company of ABC TV network, which on Tuesday dropped the rebooted '90s sitcom "Roseanne" amid a ferocious online backlash against its star.

But cancelling "Roseanne" is "like taking off "All in the Family" or "I Love Lucy" or Andy Griffith at their zenith", he said.
