E3 2018: Fortnite confirmed for Nintendo Switch, available today”

After Nintendo seemingly confirmed the existence of a Fortnite Battle Royale port with an eShop update last week, Twitter user Simon Aarons dug a little deeper over the weekend and discovered that all of the information for Fortnite has already been uploaded on to the digital storefront.

The Daily Mail reports that one school in Bristol said in a statement: 'We've heard some of our children, including in Year 3, are playing a game online called Fortnite ... if your child is playing this game talk to them and make sure you know what they are doing'. Now you can take the game with you on-the-go on a device more capable than a smartphone. One hundred people jump out of Fortnite's battle bus and parachute down to an island, search for assault rifles and gear, then battle it out until only one person is left standing, resulting in a victory royale.

Nintendo announced the news on Tuesday morning during its annual briefing at E3, the video game industry trade show held in Los Angeles.

Interestingly, there was also no mention of cross-platform play between the Nintendo Switch and any of the other platforms it is available on. Whether Fortnite will be exempt from those charges remains to be seen.

But, now horrified parents have come forward to tell how their daughter became hooked to the game and would play up to 10 hours straight. This comes a day prior to Nintendo's E3 2018 event that should have officially announced the game. The highly addictive game is available across PS4, Xbox One, iOS, Mac and Microsoft Windows, reported The Washington Post. Specifically, it includes 600 V-Bucks (in-game currency used to purchase cosmetics and emotes in battle royale), the fighter pilot-looking Wingman Outfit and the Bogey Bag Back Bling. We assume that cross-play with all of these other platforms will be supported on the Nintendo Switch. But what happens when you get addicted?
