Griezmann: "I've made a decision, but today isn't the day to talk..."

Griezmann:

The Catalan club had been threatened by Atletico over their pursuit of Griezmann, with the Spanish side turning to Federation Internationale de Football Association for aid.

And the 27-year-old cranked up the rumours after revealing that his future will be decided this week.

"I don't know what happened against the United States of America, we prepared well".

There appears to be no logical reason behind Griezmann delaying the announcement of a new deal, if he is to stay at Atletico, and it would now be more surprising if the forward doesn't switch clubs this summer.

According to French outlet Canal+, Griezmann has made a decision to stay with Atletico and sign a new deal which would make him the highest paid player in their history.

The media gathered at France's World Cup base in Russian Federation to attend a press conference, at which Griezmann would be speaking.

"I'm in agreement that to get back to winning the Champions League we have to have the best players".

They claim Atletico conducted a campaign to keep hold of Griezmann, including manager Diego Simeone, the players and staff.

"I don't know if he's the priority".

"I can only say that to win the Champions League you have to have the best players". And he is very good, " Messi was quoted by Goal to have told Sport.

The Argentine, whose side were surprisingly dumped out of last season's competition at the quarter-final stage by Roma despite winning the first leg 4-1, added: "The truth is we would like to have won more Champions Leagues, above all in the last three years".
