Robert De Niro Bleeped at Tony Awards for Trump F-Bomb

Robert De Niro Bleeped at Tony Awards for Trump F-Bomb”

Others mentioned their heritage and their respect for others during their airtime: Presenter John Leguizamo said, "I am a human, not an animal", referencing President Trump's racist rhetoric. He also extended condolences to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, after Trump criticized the Canadian leader on Twitter.

De Niro criticized Trump again in April during the opening night of the 2018 Tribeca Film Festival calling him a liar and a "madman". "The hypocrisy of the left".

"I just want to make a note of apology for the idiotic behavior of my president", he said.

At the Tony awards, De Niro launched an expletive at Trump and pumped his arms like a boxer for emphasis.

Robert De Niro didn't set foot on a Broadway stage this past year, yet on last night's Tony Awards, he received one of the loudest and most sustained ovations of the night with only two words: "Fuck Trump".

His economic adviser then went on CNN to say that Trudeau had "stabbed Trump in the back" with his comments on tariffs.

Online, left-wing sentiment echoed the admiration, De Niro's off-hand comment earned him the titles of "genius" and 'national treasure.' Others assumed the glittering Broadway crowd was the flawless representation of the entire American population.

"It's no longer down with Trump", he said.

A spokesperson for the USA network CBS - which was broadcasting the event - subsequently confirmed that it had bleeped the actor's curses out of the show.

While he might have expected others in Hollywood to defend him, he probably didn't expect someone to suggest President Donald Trump himself was to blame after the comments.

Not everyone was a fan of De Niro's choice words.

"[Trump's] so blatantly stupid", he said.

He told BNN Bloomberg Monday that the language being used by Trump and his aides is "infuriating".

Ted Nugent tweeted: 'Damn shame Robert de Niro turned into such a hypocritical America hating drug-addled jerk'.
