13-Year-Old Courtney Hadwin Gets Golden Buzzer on 'America's Got Talent'

13-Year-Old Courtney Hadwin Gets Golden Buzzer on 'America's Got Talent'”

Courtney Hadwin gets the Golden Buzzer from Howie on America's Got Talent Season 13 Auditions Week 3 Episode on Tuesday, June 12, 2018.

But once the music begins, Courtney sparks to life with her jerky dance moves and Steven Tyler-esque voice.

At the end of her performance, she earned the Golden Buzzer by Howie Mandel.

Watch Courtney's audition below!

The 13-year-old aspiring singer bashfully admitted that she was "a little bit nervous" as judge Mel B asked her how she was feeling, and she giggled awkwardly when asked questions about her favorite subjects in school.

She left with a "Golden Buzzer" pass to the live shows. And then you sing, and you're like a lion.

What happened in between was her transformation into a soulful singing dynamo that prompted judge Howie Mandel to compare her to Janis Joplin.

"You are not from this era".

And "go for it" is exactly what she did.

From the first moment Hadwin began to sing, judge Simon Cowell was absolutely floored, and he had nothing but praise for the fantastic songstress after her performance.

When the song ended she got a standing ovation, much to her dad's delight, who was watching with host Tyra Banks from backstage.

America's Got Talent airs on Netflix in the United Kingdom, with new episodes on Thursdays.

She's not the first British act to do well in America's Got Talent, with Wimbledon ventriloquist Paul Zerdin winning the 2015 series. She later tweeted saying it was "more than I ever could have dreamed of". She has also sung locally in Hartlepool, but America's Got Talent opens up a whole new audience for the schoolgirl.
