Dumbo Trailer Reveals Tim Burton's Take on the Disney Classic

Dumbo Trailer Reveals Tim Burton's Take on the Disney Classic”

Will Burton find similar success with his next Disney tentpole, "Dumbo"?

Disney continues its barrage of live-action adaptations of its animated classics with Dumbo. Dumbo is set for release next year. Director Tim Burton is known for films like Ed Wood, Edward Scissorhands, Pee Wee's Big Adventure, Frankenweenie and Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street among others. Following the successes of The Jungle Book, Pete's Dragon and Beauty and The Beast, Disney handles the reins of handling the Dumbo adaptation to the Academy Award-nominated director Tim Burton. But in Dumbo, everyone is flesh-colored, warm and full of hope - especially the young girl Milly (Nico Parker) who takes the lost Dumbo under her wing.

At the end of the trailer, Parker's character turns out to be the key to the pachyderm's flight, telling him, "Here, Dumbo".

For those unaware of the plot, Dumbo follows the story of a circus elephant born with excessively large ears.

However, Dumbo's caretaker soon learns that Dreamland isn't what it appears to be.

The live-action film stars Danny DeVito, Colin Farrell, Alan Arkin, Eva Green and Michal Keaton.

The movie is scheduled for a March 2019 release.

Dumbo's unique abilities attract Michael Keaton's skeezy entrepreneur V.A. Vandevere, who wants to take the elephant to his "Dreamland" - where he meets Eva Green's aerialist and likely discovers, if this film's droopy shadows and song style are to be believed, that Dreamland is more like Nightmareland.
