Heroic raccoon scales Minnesota office building

Heroic raccoon scales Minnesota office building”

A raccoon that was apparently stranded on a skyscraper in Minnesota is now on the move after officials tried to rescue it, reports WCCO.

St. Paul Animal Control believes it may have been there all night before starting its climb.

It looks like the story of the world-famous, skyscraper-scaling raccoon has a happy ending.

No word yet on how crews plan to get it down.

By Tuesday afternoon, it had stopped on a ledge more than 20 storeys high.

But then all he did was set his sights on another building, climbing 23 storeys to more than 200 feet above street level, and taking a rest.

A raccoon scrambles along a ledge on the side of the Town Square building in downtown St. Paul, Minn., on Tuesday, June 12, 2018.

It was dubbed the #MPRraccoon because Minnesota Public Radio, whose offices are in a nearby building, documented the animal's long, odd trip.

The furry little critter scaled the ubs building early Tuesday, after being scared by building workers trying to help it off an overhang.

MPR reporter Tim Nelson tweeted a video of the raccoon "doing a little grooming" from the 23rd floor's ledge, "now that he's a social media star".

Whatever fate awaits the wild creature, it's now achieved whatever level of fame an animal hits when it gets multiple Twitter accounts.

According to Minnesota Public Radio, the raccoon safely made it to the roof on Wednesday morning.
