Jon Stewart Doesn’t Buy The Right’s Outrage Over Samantha Bee

Jon Stewart Doesn’t Buy The Right’s Outrage Over Samantha Bee”

Stewart accused conservatives of having a moral double standard and said, "Please understand that a lot of what the right does, and it's maybe their greatest genius, is they've created a code of conduct that they police, that they themselves don't have to, in any way, abide".

Organizers of the largest gathering of conservatives outside the D.C. beltway said Saturday that the hostess of "Full Frontal with Samantha Bee" on TBS has rejected the press pass the show requested for the speeches and festivities Friday and Saturday at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver.

Bee is a former correspondent for The Daily Show.

In many ways, Jon Stewart appears to be right.

Stewart said the controversy surrounding Bee represented a "game" and "strategy" from right-wing politicians at large.

Some others, including former acting attorney general Sally Yates, chastised Bee, arguing that Ivanka Trump should not be a called the c-word because unlike the first daughter, a c**t is "powerful, beautiful, nurturing and honest". Regarding the political right in the USA, he said, "They don't give a s*** about the word 'c***.'" He also reportedly joked that United States President Donald Trump probably says the "c-word" instead of "please".

"Don't get caught in a trap of thinking you can live up to a code of integrity that will be enough for the propagandist right".

"Her executive producer, who was the one who allowed this joke to move forward and celebrated on Twitter [should also be suspended], and anyone on the staff who said that this was something that should go forward and put their stamp of approval on it", she added. "[Trump] says that instead of 'please, ' I'm guessing".

The morning after the segment aired, Bee released an apology to both Trump and her viewers "for using an expletive on [her] show to describe her last night".
