New Season Two Trailer Debuts For Luke Cage

New Season Two Trailer Debuts For Luke Cage”

"Marvel's Luke Cage" is returning to Netflix after a almost two-year hiatus, and with it comes another delicious dose of Alfre Woodard as the divine Mariah Dillard.

A new promo for Season 2 of Luke Cage features Rand Enterprises assisting Misty Knight during her road to recovery, following the loss of her right arm.

She's back Luke faces a power grab for Harlem from Alfre Woodward's councilwoman and crime boss Mariah Dillard
She's back Luke faces a power grab for Harlem from Alfre Woodward's councilwoman and crime boss Mariah Dillard

Luke Cage's sophomore run of 13 episodes (releasing Friday, June 22) finds Alfre Woodard's Mariah Dillard trying to pick up her political career and make something of the family she hates so much, following her brutal takeover of Harlem's Paradise. Although Mariah just barely managed to survive that season's narrative, now she's back and more defiant than ever. In keeping with the show's embrace of classic hip-hop, the clip features the Fugees track "Ready or Not" and offers up the notion that "black women have always had superpowers". But being so visible has only increased his need to protect the community and find the limits of who he can and can't save. Meanwhile, Luke Cage wrestles with the idea of intervening and protecting Mariah for the good of Harlem.

He is forced to confront the fine line that separates a hero from a villain. The series also stars Simone Missick, Theo Rossi, Gabrielle Dennis, and Rosario Dawson. But Mariah has one thing Bushmaster and Rosalie don't, and that's Luke Cage.
