Wonder Woman sequel photos reveal major character returns

Wonder Woman sequel photos reveal major character returns”

In a pleasant morning surprise, Warner Bros. has released the first Wonder Woman 2 images from the highly anticipated sequel, as filming on the follow-up is now underway.

Wonder Woman 1984 director Patty Jenkins just announced the news on Twitter by sharing the first official photo from the movie.

Images like these are, of course, meant to set internet chatter ablaze, and we can only speculate as to how Steve Trevor's made a return and how he's landed in the 1980s. "Welcome to WONDER WOMAN 1984, Steve Trevor!", Jenkins wrote along with the photo above. And this doesn't appear to be some sort of hallucination or flashback, as Trevor is looking confused as all get-up in what appears to be a mall. And, sure enough, autumn 2019 will see Gal Gadot return as Diana Prince, with Patty Jenkins, who brought the character to the screen so successfully the first time around, returning as director. As previously announced, the film also stars Kristen Wiig in the role of the Super-Villain The Cheetah, as well as Pedro Pascal.

First photos from 'Wonder Woman 1984' confirm that Chris Pine is returning as Steve Trevor

Production will take place in Washington, D.C., Alexandria, Virginia, and in the UK, Spain and the Canary Islands. Oscar-nominated editor Richard Pearson (United 93) will cut the film.

The following contains a spoiler for Wonder Woman if you haven't seen it yet.

Wonder Woman 2 is now set to hit theaters on November 1, 2019.
