Tom Holland Wants Spider-Man Vs. Venom

Tom Holland Wants Spider-Man Vs. Venom”

Tom Holland is a good Spider-Man, but famously very bad at keeping his secrets.

"I wanted to apologize because there's no real revelations coming out this weekend about Spider-Man 2", he said in a video posted to his Instagram page following an appearance at Ace Comic Con in Seattle over the weekend.

Makes sense - Venom was Spidey's nemesis in the first place, and he's already made an appearance in the Spider-Man trilogy starring Tobey Maguire, before first Andrew Garfield and then Tom took over the rebooted role.

It is possible that somewhere down the line that we may see Tom Holland as Spider-Man taking on Tom Hardy as Venom, as Sony does still own the film rights to the Wall Crawler, and the character is only on loan to Marvel Studios.

Still, there have been rumors of a Holland cameo in director Ruben Fleischer's Venom, so perhaps there remains a glimmer of hope that he could face off against Tom Hardy's Eddie Brock, eventually. Who remembers when Tom revealed the Avengers: Infinity War poster?

No details of the plot have been revealed just yet (but we can assume Tom will probably slip up sooner or later) but that hasn't stopped fans from guessing potential story-lines, with many thinking "far from home" will see Peter/Spidey in Europe.

"Spider-Man: Far From Home" arrives in theaters on July 5, 2019, two months after the release of "Avengers 4".
